What is online counselling?
Online counselling is a way of delivering couple counselling via the Internet. It’s just like face-to-face therapy except you and your partner communicate with me via your personal computer. This service is also known as webcam counselling, online therapy, e-therapy, distance therapy, internet therapy and web therapy. It can prove as effective as its face-to-face alternative for some couples.
Why online counselling or psychotherapy?
The quality of our relationships profoundly effects how we feel about ourselves and our partner, but it goes deeper than that… it also has consequences for our lives and for those around us – the emotional, cognitive and physical development of our children, our capacity to work and to be fulfilled in work, and our physical and mental health.
Sustaining a fulfilling and stable relationship is never easy. When pressures related to external sources, work, money, children, family tensions and ill health arise they often cause problems for both partners and their relationship. This often leads to difficult emotions, including depressive feelings and disappointment, which in turn create difficulties for both partners.
If you attend as a couple, I aim to help you to improve your communication and to understand and resolve underlying issues and conflicts. I find that people usually feel greatly relieved and happier having had a chance to talk through things.
